Subject: Re: [ubl-dev] Delivery Document

Hi Oriol,

Thanks a lot for your answer. Before you answser me, I have realized that one possibility to use is the Document that your indicating, but when I investigated inside the UBL-ForwardingInstructions-2.1.xsd, I couldn´t  found for each item, a reference to an Order,  and a reference of the Order Line that originated the -ForwardingInstructions. Because in the business rules  in which I´m working, it´s necessary to maintain in the delivery document the reference to the customer order and customer order line.
I agree that the ForwardingInstructions is the right document responding to the business concept that I need but it doesn´t have the relation with the original order lines for each good that I have to send to the customer.

A document that I think, can  help me in this is the DespatchAdvice. I know that is used to communicate the despatch of good, but remain the reference to the original order. Can I use the despatchAdvice as a Delivery document, using an special document type?

thanks for your help!
best regards
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

From your comment, I'd say that the document that fits in your scenario is the Forwarding Instructions. I am copying here the definition for this document:

A document issued to a forwarder, giving instructions regarding the action to be taken for the forwarding of goods described therein. Forwarding Instructions is used by any party who gives instructions for the transportation services required for a consignment of goods to any party who is contracted to provide the transportation services. The parties who issue this document are commonly referred to as the shipper or consignor, while the parties who receive this document are forwarders, carriers, shipping agents, etc. This document may also be issued by a forwarder or shipping agent in its capacity as a shipper. This document can be used to arrange for the transportation (1) of different types of goods or cargoes; (2) whether containerized or non-containerized; (3) through different modes of transport including multi-modal; and (4) from any origin to any destination.

Hi,

if I consider a delivery order referring  to an "order given by an owner of goods to a person in possession of them (the carrier or warehouseman) directing that person to deliver the goods to a person named in the order."[3].

Which is de UBL document that represent de delivery order?

For example:

                                    a) A Customer Party Send an Order(Purchase) to a Seller.  UBL Document =ORDER

                                    b) Seller accept the Purchase Order WIth Order Response Simple sending it to the CustomerParty

                                    c) The Seller, has a warehouse operated by a third party.  The Seller sends a delivery document indicating that the warehouse third party to send the goods to the customerparty. Which is this UBL document? representing the deliverydocument?

thanks you very much.
