Subject: [ubl-lcsc] The DRive Registry from X12
FYI - This is very interesting, I registered and drilled down into the registry. It works better than some of the other public registries I have gone through in the past, and it will be used by the ANSI X12 customers, so I am guessing we need to understand and keep our eyes on it. http://65.201.162.122:7070/index.jsp At the bottom of this email I am attaching the survey document that I had received with this email. ----------- The original email read: Subject: Fwd: ebXML Compliant Registry - DRIve rollout CIDX Architecture Committee participants - Per our discussion on today's conference call, I am forwarding to you the information about the DRIve initiative, which is DISA's ebXML-compliant registry. This DRive prototype set up for viewing and comments by the interested public. DRIve is out from behind the firewall ( See http://65.201.162.122:7070/index.jsp ) We would like to invite our vertical industry affiliates to browse the pages and provide feedback. Attached is a questionnaire that you can return to: Alan Kotok < akotok@disa.org > Editor, < E-Business*Standards*Today /> http://www.disa.org/dailywire/ Data Interchange Standards Association akotok@disa.org +1 703-518-4174 Additional Comments: DRIve is set up to handle publicly-available specifications, which applies more to vertical industry groups than the core EDI specifications in X12. As it stands now, DRIve is a prototype, a working model for future development. OTA and IFX have graciously offered their specifications as objects to register in DRive for testing and demonstration purposes. As we discovered, without a working model of this kind, it is difficult to visualize how DRive can or should work. Hopefully, this prototype will bridge that gap. Some companies may not want a close identification with ebXML, and we would like to make it clear that a listing in DRive does not imply endorsement of ebXML. Also, a listing in DRIve does not preclude listings elsewhere. DRIve is DISA's way, based on open standards, of providing access to our affiliates' specifications. DRIve can cross-reference to other registries as needed. Please let me know what questions you may have. Many thanks for your help.
