Subject: Text types and multiple languages
A while ago we discussed the best way to support multi-lingual text (for example descriptions of the same catalogue line in English, French and German). It has been proposed we use the cardinality of the BBIE to allow many occurrences - e.g. one per language. But this creates an issue with abuse of the repeating text elements. The possible identified was to create a "multi-lingual" qualified data type, that somehow resricted the type to using different LanguageCodes (per instance???). I think we passed this to someone to investigate the technical feasability (Bryan?) but I dont know if we got a resolution. Can we talk about this on the next call as I need to know what to do in the spreadsheets. -- regards tim mcgrath phone: +618 93352228 postal: po box 1289 fremantle western australia 6160 DOCUMENT ENGINEERING: Analyzing and Designing Documents for Business Informatics and Web Services http://www.docengineering.com/
