Subject: Renaming the PISC to ISC

Hello UBL TC,

On 12 November I asked you to formally approve a new subcommittee
called the Pilot Implementation Subcommittee (PISC). Now the
co-chairs of that new SC have requested that it be renamed simply
the Implementation Subcommittee (ISC), since it is not limited in
scope to pilot implementations but includes commercial products as
well. I believe that this is a good idea, and I'm asking you in
this message to approve the change (or at least not to disapprove
it).

As luck would have it, my request to OASIS to create the new CLSC
and (P)ISC lists went to people who were out of the country and
are just now in a position to actually do this, so we don't have
any existing references to change. To save time, I've asked them
to go ahead and create an ISC list while you are considering this
change so that the group can stop using the UBL list for the
conduct of its business. We can ask that it be changed to
something else if someone comes up with a reason not to use the
name.

If you have no objection to this name change, do nothing. If you
are a voting member of the OASIS TC and you object to the change,
please register that objection with mail to the list
ubl@lists.oasis-open.org no later than COB 1 December 2003.

Chair, OASIS UBL TC

place.]

Subject: [ubl] Establishing the Pilot Implementation Subcommittee (PISC)

UBL members,

On 28 October 2003, I notified you that I would be proposing the
formation of a UBL Pilot Implementation Subcommittee:

   http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/ubl/200310/msg00016.html

This was noted again in the opening plenary of the UBL TC meeting
in San Francisco last week. In the closing plenary 7 November,
the members present decided on co-chairs, charter, and an initial
membership list. This message is to record those decisions and
place the creation of the PISC before you for formal adoption.

The resolution creating the PISC is given below. If you have no
objection to its adoption, do nothing. If you are a voting member
and you object to the adoption of this resolution, please register
that objection with mail to the list ubl@lists.oasis-open.org no
later than COB 17 November 2003.

Note that the initial membership listed below appears as a
matter of form and in no way prevents other interested UBL members
from joining. We're making a particular effort with this SC to
actively involve serious early implementors, so if you happen to
know of an organization planning to implement UBL 1.0 during the
upcoming Beta cycle, please let them know that we have created a
UBL subcommittee designed for their participation.

The co-chairs designated in this resolution will determine a
meeting schedule as soon as the PISC has been formally
established. They are not expected to begin serious work until
the UBL 1.0 Beta package has been publicly released.

Chair, OASIS UBL TC
