Just in case I don't get to the meeting -

The main ingredient for Eurpoean 'Value Added Tax' (and other such taxes)
which
seems to be wanting is the registration number for a Party/TaxScheme (or
schemes,
plural, in some countries). The existing CompanyID is a bit problematic in
that
it's definition seems to hinder its use for this, yet it seems to be the
most likely
candidate for the purpose, apart from a phrase in its definition. Sweden
have
an apparently exemplatory implementation (SFTI) of the UBL Invoice which
I gather uses the latter and indeed the UBL examples use the latter too for
the
VAT reg. no. (UK version in the joinery example invoice). Maybe it's just
the
definition that needs changing (removal of clause to say CompanyID isn't for
use
for tax registration IDs).

- Perhaps the least contested point that came across at the IDA/OGC meeting
on
Friday :-)
