Subject: Agenda for Atlantic UBL TC call 25 May 2005
AGENDA FOR ATLANTIC UBL TC MEETING 15H00 - 17H00 UTC WEDNESDAY 25 MAY 2005 08h00 - 10h00 Wed San Francisco 11h00 - 13h00 Wed Washington 16h00 - 18h00 Wed London ############################################# STANDING INFORMATION FOR UBL CONFERENCE CALLS U.S. domestic toll-free number: (866)839-8145 Int. access/caller paid number: (865)524-6352 Access code: 5705229 ############################################# STANDING ITEMS Additions to the calendar (http://ibiblio.org/bosak/ubl/calendar.htm) Liaison reports Subcommittee reports Team reports ACTION ITEM REVIEW ACTION: MartyB and TonyC to create a briefing package summarizing the issues for the TC and send it out the week of 25 April so that we can prepare for the discussion. Status: It looks like this work is on hold for the moment. NEW OASIS MEMBERSHIP PROCEDURES We need to discuss this briefly. I will assume that you've all read the revised OASIS TC process at http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/process.php TBG17 LIAISON Marion Royal's responsibilities no longer allow him to keep up with the role of UBL liaison to UN/CEFACT TBG17. In the minutes of the Atlantic UBL TC call 16 February 2005, we said: TBG17: MarkC has been appointed project leader for TBG17 harmonization and will ensure that UBL is told what is needed. However, we never went beyond this vague observation to the formal naming of a new TBG17 liaison. We need to appoint one. NDR WORK SESSION Mavis and Mike are unavailable this week, so we won't have an NDR work session per se, but here are some items that we should discuss: - We're running out of time for NDR revision with a huge amount still remaining to do (in particular, the proposed reorganization of Reusable and the revision of our code list approach). - It would be good to pick up the customization discussion as soon as we've got the NDR issues settled. We've had a lot more time to think about this since we considered it in Hong Kong last year, and it may be that we're ready to take a fresh look at it. I'm going to suggest that we split these work items over the new Europe/Asia TC call and the regular Atlantic TC call. Given the proposed schedule and the willingness of some key members to attend both meetings (they are going to be starting just seven hours apart), we might be able to develop a nice dynamic among the three weekly calls, something like this: Pacific Europe/Asia Atlantic Liaison reports Content work ---> Content review NDR work ---> NDR review Policy decisions Jon
