Subject: Re: SV: [ubl] Web-based IssuesList Form

Hi Jon:

The WIKI wouldn't be used for versioning the document. The only thing
it would be used for is capturing decisions that are made to the issues
list during calls so that everyone could see the decisions real-time.

During UBL 1.1 we used a spreadsheet and whoever was on the call made
notes and then the spreadsheet was updated after the fact. The WIKI
would allow real-time collaboration.

If OASIS has a collaboration tool - I think it would be really good
for us to be able to use it during this phase. Since the current
issue list is in XML I can transform it to any form that a collaboration
tool can use.

I suggest that we maintain the current form for gaithering comments.
The use of the form and automatic transformation to XML via PHP has
been a significant timesaver for me and we always have an up-to-date
list.

Initially I was planning on transforming the issues list to Excel (which
ultimately we can still do) but if we can get some real-time collaboration
that would wonderful.

I don't know which WIKI OASIS is test-driving but I tested a Pageseeder
(www.pageseeder.com) last year for another project and was really
impressed with it. It has XML as the underlying data format (which
most WIKI's don't). Nick Carr (who has long history in SGML and XML)
was one of the developers.

BTW, I am planning on attending the NY meeting so we can make this a
discussion topic.

Thanks!

Betty
