Subject: Re: [ubl] Minutes of Atlantic UBL TC call 30 September 2009

Dear Stephen,

In the tool, the owner of a document model has privileges to alter the document model. Any other users who
has access right to visualize the document model has two options to update the model:

(1)he can customize the document model and save it as a customization of the original document. Now there
will be 2 document models of which owners are different.

(2)he can update the document model if he thinks that there is something which needs to be updated
on the original document model and suggest his modifications as a better model to the owner of the
original document. If the owner of the original document accepts the better solution coming from a user,
then the original document is updated. Then there will be one document model. But users are not able
to suggest a better document model for standardized document models. For example, user cannot
suggest that UBL v 2.0 Order documents, which are announced by UBL TC, should be updated.

The access rights to visualize are organized according to the groups that user and document belongs.
For example, if a user sets the group of a new document model as PSC, then the members of PSC
group are able to visualize the model.

I hope this clarifies the issues.

Best regards,

eDoCreator Team

Just a question about the online tool:
Does it protect the content so that nobody
can alter it except those who created it (PSC, etc)?
Though convenient, it seems so accessible,
I do worry that be merely navigating around and
maybe making a mistake with some private
editing it could be possible to overwrite something
just prior to the official schema generation.
Plus it might be good to demonstrate that such
things cannot have affected the intergrity of the
model prior to the official artefact creation (in
addition to any checking of the artefacts of course).
