PRELIMINARY AGENDA FOR UBL TC MEETING IN MONTREAL 9-13 AUGUST 2010

The Montreal meeting this year will be primarily devoted to
completion of the UBL 2.1 PRD1 release package.

MEETING LOGISTICS

    The meeting will take place at the Best Western Hotel Europa,
    1240 rue Drummond (www.europahotelmtl.com/).  Meeting room
    arrangements will be published in an update to this agenda.

DINNER SUNDAY NIGHT

    Participants wishing to have dinner together Sunday 8 August
    will meet at 7 p.m. at Dunn's (1249 Metcalfe, 514.395.1927) for
    our traditional homage to Smoked Meat.

FORMAT

    Monday morning: Opening plenary
    Tuesday-Thursday mornings: TSC and editorial con calls
    Friday morning: closing plenary
    Afternoons: breakouts

TIME ZONE (UTC/GMT-4)

    Morning calls begin at 09:15 local time (fifteen minutes after
    the meeting begins) to allow for initial equipment and meeting
    room setup.  To find the local time corresponding to 09:15 in

    The opening plenary will begin 09:15 Montreal time Monday
    morning using the usual UBL conference bridge:

          (applies only if calling one of the phone numbers)

    If this number fails for some reason, please check email for
    instructions.  (In fact, mail should be checked for last-minute
    changes in plan in any case.)  People attending the meeting in
    person should enable Skype accounts; we won't have a conference
    phone but will be relying on the hotel's wireless for the con
    calls.  We will be using Yugma to display screens in real time;
    a Yugma ID will be mailed just before the beginning of the
    meeting.

AC POWER AT UBL MEETINGS

    Every participant using a device that consumes AC power is
    reminded to bring a three-way tap to the meeting room in which
    he or she intends to participate.  Canadian power is 60 Hz
    110-120 VAC.

INTERNET ACCESS

    Free wireless internet access is available in all rooms at the
    Hotel Europa, and it works pretty well in most of them.  It's a
    good idea to check wifi reception immediately upon getting a
    room key.

MEALS AND DRINKS

    Attendees are on their own for meals and refreshments; dozens
    of eateries are located within a short walk of the meeting
    place.

    Conduct editorial reviews of the UBL 2.1 PRD1 documentation

    Complete UBL 2.1 PRD1 documentation

    Complete all components of the PRD1 release package

    Review the 2.1 NDR and make changes as needed to the checklist;
    begin work on the 2.1 NDR documentation

    Conduct a usability analysis of UBL 2.1 documentation to
    determine work items for PRD2

    Form outline of data models and document types expected to be
    added in PRD2

    Set 2011 face-to-face meeting schedule

    Review naming conventions

    Tutorial on BIEs and their relationships
