Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (UBL-45) Unbounded Price at line level

Kees Duvekot commented on UBL-45:
---------------------------------

I am against changing this cardinality.

The Price element with PriceAmount has always been the Net Price of the items, after deductions of any discounts/allowances etc. Those can be expressed in the AllowanceCharge element. Using the BaseAmount in the AllowanceCharge element allows you to specify the Gross Price on which the AllowanceCharge/Amount is applied giving all the information that is needed to show the path from Gross to Net price.

So the requirement to show Net and Gross Price for a line on an invoice can already be met with the current elements. This is also how it is done in the current PEPPOL Invoice specifications, and other variants.

Making the price element unbounded would lead to confusion with people looking at the specifications and trying to figure out how to use it. And this also brings us to the path where you can provide an argument for every element to make it unbound which I also think is a wrong direction. (we already have to many unbound elements that can cause confusion)

So I will reject this proposal
