Actually there is also an ISO 639-5 https://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-5/

This looks like to be the latest.

Pre-award added the Language code list to the distribution and the best I can find is: https://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/php/code_list.php  Does anyone know a better source of 2-letter and 3-letter codes?  The code list I create will have in the key both 2-letter and 3-letter values in the one key so that users need only point to one Language code list without needing to know if users are using two or three letters.

The current genericode files for code lists are from UBL 2.1.  Each code list has to be reviewed for any newer version to use.  
Any new code lists to be included in the UBL 2.2 distribution need to be identified.  This includes those that are included in the default value validation XSLT (a data type qualification is now in the CCTS spreadsheet and was not in UBL 2.1), and those provided as a convenience for users (not seen in the CCTS spreadsheet).
