I cannot decide if this is a good idea or not.  Users up to now will have been using the text field to indicate the hash method.  If we then add an alternative expression of this as a code and future users look just for the code, they won't find the method in the old documents that use the text field.

I propose we not add anything in this regard and just let the text field continue to be used.  If someone wants to put a URI in there, there is nothing stopping them.

Maybe introducing HashAlgorithmMehtodIdentifier or HahsAlgorithmMethodCode alongside the now given textual representation might be a feasible solution.
