OASIS Member Section Welcome and Update

Greetings, all. I chair the Steering Committee for the UDDI Memebr Section, and thought I'd first like to welcome the members that have recently joined. We've seen our numbers double over the last couple of months, which is indeed good news. For those of you that have not already done so, you should spend some time at our public pages at OASIS, to see if you can add content where appropriate. The link is http://www.uddi.org/. You can also follow a link off the main OASIS page. A couple of places to note:

- We now have a couple of case studies posted. Do you have any to add?
- We are refreshing the Solutions Page. Do you have solutions that should be represented?
- We are always interested in news about UDDI. Do you have anything we should post?

As to the current focus for the Steering Committee, we have a partnership arrangement with the UDDI Spec TC, and try to handle the non-technical tasks for them. We also have a small budget, which we have been trying to use on promotion of UDDI. We have not been able to garner enough support for a full Marketing TC for UDDI, so are always on the lookout for people who can devote small pieces of time to help promote UDDI. If you have interest, please let me know. We are currently working to commission updates to our white papers, adding to the Case Studies, and updating the Solutions pages.

The other area that will be taking time, is that we're due to have elections to the Steering Committee in the July timeframe. I'll be posting a call for nominations soon. If you think you might be interested in serving on the SC, please review the Member Section Rules of Procedure at http://www.uddi.org/governance/rules_of_procedures.html so you have an idea of how we work.
