I hadn't heard back on any interest by 18:00PST yesterday
so hadn't setup a call. It's too short notice to get folks on phone
today and allow Daniel Feyguin for example to call in from Moscow. We
do need to scope this activity out and answer Andrew's question; let's get this
answered over mail today and hold a call tomorrow.
I propose that we hold the call tomorrow.
Anyone on the To: or Cc: lines that is interested in calling in
please reply to me so I can gauge attendance and plan the call accordingly. The
call (if one is to take place) would be held at 07:00PST.
Could either you or James give me a call to discuss
arrangements and determine if we can push off the 17 Aug deadline.
I can be reached at 617.395.6798.

Jamie can pipe in here but this is
the decision of the group and only bound by what is accomplishable in the time
frame.
Luc,
Will the concall occur
today?
Best,
Dee

Dee
and Jamie,
Can you clarify what you are
looking for in a demo? Is the intent to demonstrate interoperability
across several Web service specifications or is it sufficient to demonstrate
interoperability of one specification? Also, will there be more than one
demonstration of OASIS specification interoperability at this
event?

BPEL / WSDM / WSRP - interop - FW: Gartner demo
opportunity |

We have an opportunity
to participate in a two-hour workshop and interop demo at the Gartner Application and Web Service Summit in
Orlando on
17 November [1]. Dee Schur has written to a number of TCs
(see below) looking to identify at
least five OASIS members willing to collaborate on a demonstration at this event **by Tuesday, 17
August**.
This is a rather short
frame to pull this together both from the perspective of responding **by** Tue and providing implementations in
time for an interop demo in Nov.
Given the current activities on the BPEL and WSRP Technical Notes and a WSDM TN I'm co-authoring with Fred
Carter of the WSDM TC, it is my hope
that we can pull this off. I think we are in an ideal position to demonstrate UDDI - the Web services registry
standard - as the enabler of
enterprise SOA and bring together management, business
process, and WS portlets .... how
exactly remains tbd.
If your
organization is interested and in a position to participate in
this activity, please reply-all
indicating how you can contribute and scenario proposals. Please do so by 18:00 PST on Monday.
Based on the response I'll
arrange for a telecon Tue 08:00 PST to discuss possible scenarios and determine whether we can pull together
a compelling interop demo in time
for 17 Nov.
BPEL, WSDM, WSRP
Chairs: please canvass your respective TC asking for interest in participating in such a joint interop
demo.

[wsdm] Gartner demo opportunity
WSDM members: My colleague
Dee Schur, who is managing our
public interop demonstrations
schedule, asked me to pass this along to you for your consideration, as one of the key web services standardization
TCs with a delivery date in the near
future. These events often are a TC-wide function, but that is not necessarily required, so long as a
critical mass of interested members
wish to participate. As I'm sure you know, we
have had spectacular successes in
the past, promoting the adoption and awareness of our announced specs with similar events at high-profile
industry functions of this kind.
