Subject: AW: [uddi-spec-comment] Service Projection

Title: Nachricht
Rajesh,

For example, think of a Web service that is centrally hosted by Corporate IT of a large organization and offered through multiple subsidiaries in different countries. The subsidiaries can add service projections to the central Web service. The advantage in this case is that every change to the service is automatically visible in the subsidiaries' businessService entities.

Service projections may also be used across different businessEntities. This is independent of the question whether a relationship is established between the businessEntities.

Betreff: [uddi-spec-comment] Service Projection

All,

Section 3.4.2 Documentation of the UDDI v3.0.2-20041019 specification.

The businessKey may differ from the publishing businessEntity’s businessKey. This indicates a service projection. A service projection allows a business or organization to include in its businessEntity a businessService offered by some other business or organization. A projected businessService is made a part of a businessEntity by reference as opposed to by containment. Projections to the same service can be made in any number of business entities.

What is the business use case behind Service Projection? Can somebody clarify.

Thanks,

- Rajesh Koilpillai
