Subject: RE: Initial V4 Requirements List

Hi Tom and all,

Here is my shortlist of major work items I'd like to see addressed:

1) SOAP 1.2 (when published as a W3C Recommendation, eventually addressed as an add-on to UDDI Version 2 and 3)
2) WS-I
  a) Adoption of UDDI specifications (especially UDDI Version 3 and SCC14N) and best practices (especially the new WSDL TN) in WS-I profiles
  b) Conformance of UDDI with WS-I profiles (eventually by using WS-I test tools)
3) WS-Policy (when submitted to a standards organization)
  a) Expressing UDDI Version 3 policy by means of WS-Policy
  b) TN for using WS-Policy in UDDI (both Version 2 and 3)
4) Revisit of find qualifiers for *bag behavior with respect to logical operators
5) Representation and identification of UDDI registries in UDDI in order to support more seamless federation

Almost all work items may be addressed by Technical Notes or small add-ons to the existing UDDI versions. I don't see a real need for UDDI Version 4 yet. Maybe a UDDI Version 3.1 is what we (and the industry) need.

Regards,
 Claus

Subject: Initial V4 Requirements List

Hi everyone,

Attached is the strawman V4 Requirements list constructed during our
November FTF. Please look through these. Please post suggesting your own
as well. Recall that we'd like to start dividing up responsibility for
fleshing these out at next week's meeting.

(See attached file: V4 Requirements Topics.doc)
