Yes. One thing that occurred when we were implementing, is that the spec. doesn't actually say how (and whether) the Context Service returns a pass-by-reference context on begin. We talk about pass-by-reference and pass-by-value with regard to recipient services, but not really with regard to when the context is created initially. Maybe that's just an implementation specific issue.

Yes, I think that's important.  I also wonder whether we should try to clarify the use of context as a Web resource, i.e. dereferencing the context URL to obtain the XML data structure if there's no "service" available?

It's funny how you can be walking round the shops and suddently realise the things you didn't make clear in an email sent yesterday! When I said:
 
"Also, I'd suggest we keep the activity-list element from the original context, but have it as a specific element." this actually also referred to the basic context data, such as the context id, protocol type etc. So the basic context service is useable without any ALSes.
