Discuss issues Robin Cover: Perhaps of interest: "Early Draft Review for JSR-310 Specification: Date and Time API" - http://xml.coverpages.org/newsletter/news2010-03-16.html#cite2 * Discussion on Koch / Akuacom / DR Requirements submittal http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ws-calendar/email/archives/201003/msg00020.html Jeremy J. Roberts: Toby: ad hoc (happening now with no end defined); traditional calendar (.ics); sequence of schedules for bidding, say, energy use / load-shaping / etc. Carl Mattocks: It would be very useful to have a definition of "time slots" that is supported by some form of "mapping" or "binding" with "time period". Perhaps this would require a set of elements that enable parametric conversion similar to query and result mechanisms. May also be useful to have a "Controlled Vocabulary" of time-slots that may include Every day of month First day of month Second day of month Third day of month Fourth day of month Fifth day of month Sixth day of month Seventh day of month Eighth day of month Ninth day of month Tenth day of month Bob Old: Also have Ed explain the units of the hierarchy dimension. Which interval is effective, what intervals are overridden? * Discussion on Lonmark Requirements (Jeremy) (Recurrence) submittal http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ws-calendar/email/archives/201003/msg00021.html Jeremy J. Roberts: Link to current RFC for iCalendar http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2445.txt William Cox: "three days before the end of the month do X" - possible (Bernard) even with old spec. Robin Cover: Biblio references for iCalendar, iMIP, iTIP: http://xml.coverpages.org/ni2010-02-08-a.html#calendaringSpecs Bernard Desruisseaux: RFC 5545 - Internet Calendaring and Scheduling Core Object Specification (iCalendar) http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5545 Robin Cover: (1) iCalendar: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5545 (2)iTIP: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5546 (3)iMIP http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-calsify-rfc2447bis Bernard Desruisseaux: For those interested in the exact changes done in Draft -10 (pretty close to RFC5545) compared to RFC2445 can have a look at: http://tools.ietf.org/wg/calsify/draft-ietf-calsify-rfc2445bis/draft-ietf-calsify-rfc2445bis-10.changes.html * Discussion on issue Time Stamping & Precision Gershon Janssen: Bill notes that maybe there's a standard for this already Gershon Janssen: TC: Precision in or out of scope? * Discussion on issue Recursion & Conformance Gershon Janssen: Recursion for scheduling on at least 3 levels, per Ed's desires Jeremy J. Roberts: Ed to explain the "Need to be able to specify time periods and their 'sub-periods'" what that means. And: "that eliminates the possibility of invalid time specifications" how that takes place. Bernard Desruisseaux: For an example of "Monthly on the third-to-the-last day of the month, forever" see: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5545#page-127 * Discussion on issue Semantics of Event Start Jeremy J. Roberts: (1) BY 09:00 (2) AT 09:00 (3) AFTER 09:00 Gershon Janssen: Bill proposes to have a singular explaination on the semantics of event start, as no detailed knowledge of the systems can be assumed. Gershon Janssen: WC: Is there a clear and consistent way of expressing event start (be ready at / start working at) Gershon Janssen: BL: Agrees with Bill, expression is related to "system point of view" / interpretation. Gershon Janssen: WC: Would like to have more discussion on this subject, as it seems to be a relevant. Robin Cover: As in... if the occupant is an intruder at midnight Gershon Janssen: JR: Explains on how Lonmark sees this. Gershon Janssen: TC: Notes there is a similar issue with "end of event". * Discussion on issue Sequences of Intervals Item deferred to the next meeting. * iCalendar / iCOM Gershon Janssen: EC: explain more use of iCalendar related to icom. Gershon Janssen: EC: Wiki link gives more information. Robin Cover: http://wiki.oasis-open.org/icom/FrontPage Gershon Janssen: EC: invites to join the icom TC Bernard Desruisseaux: draft-desruisseaux-ischedule - Internet Calendar Scheduling Protocol (iSchedule) http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-desruisseaux-ischedule 5. Any Other Business? 6. Adjourn Gershon Janssen: Meeting adjourned.
