Subject: RE: [ws-calendar] Terms and Inheritance

I suppose we could switch from Scheduled to Schedulable….but that has offers its own issues.

Other suggestions?

Calendaring has its own sense of scheduling, i.e. scheduling meetings - an event with an organizer and attendees is a scheduling entity.

Not sure if it matters but there's a possibility of confusion I guess

Several comments call out a blurring between Bound, Partially Bound, Inheritance, Bequeath, Anchored, Unanchored, Unbound, Scheduled, Unscheduled.

Here is what I think:

Anchored – An Interval that is referenced by a Gluon is Anchored. A Sequence that contains an Anchored Interval is Anchored. A Interval can be Anchored and not Scheduled

Bequeath refers to providing values for Binding to a Gluon, Interval or Sequence through a Child relationship.

Inheritance refers to the values Bound to a Gluon, Interval or Sequence from a Parent.

*** refers to the values Bound to an Interval through temporal relations within a Sequence.

Scheduled – An interval is Scheduled if it has two of the three time elements, A Duration, a Start Time, and an End Time. A Scheduled Interval that is Part of a Sequence must have a Duration as one of the two. A Sequence is Scheduled if it contains a Scheduled Interval AND Durations for all Intervals.

Binding is the application of information to an Interval or Gluon, information derived through Inheritance or through ***.

A Bound Element refers to an Element and its Value after Binding.

A Bound Interval refers to an Interval and the values of its Elements after Binding.

A Bound Sequence refers to an Sequence and the values of its Intervals after Binding.

Partially Bound refers to an Interval or a Sequence which is not yet complete after Binding, i.e., the processes cannot yet be executed.

Fully Bound refers to an Interval or Sequences that is complete after Binding, i.e., the process can be unambiguously executed.

Suggestions on ***?

I think these are at last, orthogonal and syntactically complete.
