The essence of the smart grid and of distributed energy is to engage more participants, and more business processes than solely those currently in energy markets. If thsi specification is no better, but no worse, than other specifications *for energy*.t is it commonly understood by other domains, such as finance, enterprise, and building systems, then it meets the goals of this comittee as laid out in the Charter.
