WS-DD 1st interop test event (Dec 8-9, 2008) report

WS-DD conducted its 1^st interop testing event during Dec 8-9, 2008 hosted by Software AG at their Santa Clara, CA campus. During the event, both DPWS and WS-Discovery scenarios [1] [2] were tested amongst the participants. The results of the testing are as follows.

o DPWS testing

§ 6 implementations: Windows, Ricoh, Canon, Schneider, Univ. of Rostock, Univ. of Dortmund

§ 5 technical issues were discovered; these issues have been filed in the TC.

§ The implementations tested the scenarios in both client and server configurations.

· 75% (on average) of the scenarios were successfully tested amongst the implementations.

· 10% (on average) of the scenarios failed or not fully tested due to implementation or scenario bugs

· 15% (on average) of the scenarios were not attempted due to lack of time or because they were not implemented.

o WS-Discovery testing

§ 4 implementations: Windows .Net, Windows, Ricoh, Schneider

§ No technical issues were discovered; a few editorial issues on the specification were identified and have been filed in the TC.

§ The implementations tested the scenarios in both client and server configurations.

· 75% (on average) of the scenarios were successfully tested amongst the implementations.

· 13% (on average) of the scenarios failed or not fully tested due to implementation or scenario bugs.

· 12% (on average) of the scenarios were not attempted due to lack of time or because they were not implemented.

o Achieved the goals for interop testing

§ Unearthed technical issues on the specifications.

§ Produced evidence of successful interop testing of the specifications.
