Subject: Issue 147 - DPWS - Clarification on accepting unicast Probe
This issue is assigned the number 147. For further
discussions on this issue, please refer to this issue number or use this
thread. From: Alain Regnier
[mailto:alain@ricoh-tech.com] Please defer discussions on this issue until a time this
issue is accepted and is assigned a number. Description: DPWS now requires (MUST) a device to support receiving a
directed Probe over HTTP at any HTTP addresses where the device endpoint is
available. Shouldn't we also define a WELL
KNOWN port/uri combination where a device would accept a directed
Probe? This would allow to kickstart a full DPWS conversation
knowing only the ip address of the device, as there are many different ways
(proprietary, dns, directory based...) to get the ip address of a device. (this issue is related to issue 27 previously submitted
against WS-Discovery) Proposed Resolution: Clarify in the specification |
