Subject: RE: [ws-rx-editors] Publishing wsrm-1.1-spec-wd-06

Weird, now I can see the change bars in the doc. Before I only saw the ones on the first page.

So Paul’s comment here looks like it applies to 548-549 in the doc without change bars, or in other words the text for /wsrm:AckRequested/{any}. It could also indicate a problem with /wsrm/CloseSequence/{any} which in the diff doc is what it looks like it should have been deleted with when it got moved. It so happens that each of these definitions is the same. Looking at the diff and the regular doc they both look correct. Perhaps by coincidence the definition appeared on the same lines after the move so it didn’t get tagged as a change in the diff version.

There is another similar irregularity in the diff at lines 856-857 which would potentially impact /wsrm:SequenceAcknowledgement/wsrm:AcknowledgementRange@{any}, /wsrm:AckRequested@{any}, or /wsrm:CloseSequence@{any}.

Another one again at 892-896 potentially impacting /wsrm:SequenceAcknowledgement/{any} and /wsrm:CloseSequenceResponse/{any} and/or  /wsrm:SequenceAcknowledgement@{any} and /wsrm:CloseSequenceResponse@{any}.

Looking in the diff version and the normal version these all seem fine. I think the diff just got mixed up because of the same definitions used under these different extensibility points.

Now that I can see the dif I see other oddness at 479-482, 919-921, 923-937, 1095-1100, 1104-1117, 1120-1125, 1131-1135, 1138-1151, 1163-1165, and 1166-1174. These all seem to be inserted and deleted text that is identical.

The main doc looks fine, other than the date issue. I say fix that and ship it.

I looked at this and a big part of 3.7 is marked as deleted but there appears to be a fragment of this section remaining.  See lines 807-808.

I've attached the files I'm going to publish. If you review them you will notice that there are more changes flagged than just those outlined in the resolution of i047. This is due to the fact that I fixed one editorial nit (double spaces) before Doug convinced me that we should stick to a strict interpretation of step (2) below. I know its a bit confusing, but putting back a bunch of double spaces is both tedious and a waste of time. Just consider it a preview of all the nits to come . . .

At the last F2F we agreed that we would do the following:

1.) publish the CD

2.) re-order the sub-sections per Doug's suggestion

3.) re-publish the new WD

Nobody said anything about making any other changes in step (3). In the spirit of following the directions of the TC I think we should publish wsrm-1.1-spec-wd06 (warts and all) and address the various editorial flaws in wd-07.

The link to wd-06 is: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/ws-rx-editors/download.php/15194/wsrm-1.1-spec-wd-06.sxw. Doug has already looked this over and approved it. If I don't hear any objections to doing so, I will publish this link (along with the diffs from cd-01) to the main TC page some time late tonight.
