Subject: RE: [ws-rx-editors] Public Review of WSRM specifications

Hi Mary,
Thanks for the thorough review. I've updated the StructuedDir zip file[1], and have also attached the rddl files to this note.

RE: [ws-rx-editors] Public Review of WSRM specifications

Hi folks,

Just a couple of things need to be tweaked in the namespace documents.

Wsrmp namespace document
-          all the document links point to files named “wsrmp-1.2-spec-cs-01” rather than “wsrmp-1.2-spec-cd-01”
-          the related namespaces at the bottom of the document points to wsrmp rather than to wsrm

Wsrm namespace document
-          the PDF link is fine, but the html and word links have the same problem as wsrmp (point to cs rather than cd)

Wsmc namespace document
-          the related namespaces at the bottom of the documents points to wsmc rather than to wsrm

Thanks!

Mary

Hi Mary,

Please consider this as a formal request for starting the Public Review of the CDs [1]. The WS-RX TC voted with Full Majority on 2/28/08 conf-call [2] to submit these CDs for Public Review.

Thanks,
Sanjay

Mary - please use [1] instead.  It contains all of the files in the proper OASIS dir structure.  The files themselves are the same with one exception - the word doc in [1] has all of the changes accepted.  People outside of the TC don't need to see the change bars.

[ws-rx-editors] Public Review of WSRM specifications

Hi Mary,

This is to give you a heads up that the WS-RX TC voted with Full Majority on 2/28 conf-call to submit our latest CDs  for Public Review. The editors are preparing the final package for submission. Meanwhile, if you could also verify the latest package [1] for any potential issues, that will be great.

I also have one question for you -- How long would this PR cycle be, given that these latest CD drafts are a result of the progression of the last OS version (i.e. the latest CD drafts = OS draft + approved errata + some issue resolutions)? The version numbers of latest CD drafts are different than that of their last OS versions, but there are no changes to the namespace defined by these specifications.

Thanks,
Sanjay

Web Services Reliable Messaging Policy Assertion (WS-RM Policy)

February 28, 2008

Introduction

This document describes version 1.2 of the WS-RM Policy namespace. It also contains a directory of links to related resources using the Resource Directory Description Language (RDDL) 2.0.

Namespace URI Versioning Policy

The pattern of the WS-RM Policy v1.2 namespace URI shall be:

     http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-rx/wsrmp/yyyymm

Where yyyymm is the century, year and month chosen by the TC for that version of the namespace URI.

It is the intent of the OASIS WS-RX Technical Committee that the WS-RM Policy v1.2 namespace URI will not change arbitrarily with each subsequent revision of the corresponding WSDL or XML Schema documents but rather change only when a subsequent revision, published in conjunction with a Committee Specification, results in non-backwardly compatible changes from a previously published Committee Specification.

Under this policy, the following are examples of backwards compatible changes that would not result in assignment of a new namespace URI:

  • addition of new global element, attribute, complexType and simpleType definitions
  • addition of new operations within a WSDL portType or binding (along with the corresponding schema, message and part definitions)
  • addition of new elements or attributes in locations covered by a previously specified wildcard
  • modifications to the pattern facet of a type definition for which the value-space of the previous definition remains valid or for which the value-space of the preponderance of instance would remain valid
  • modifications to the cardinality of elements for which the value-space of possible instance documents conformant to the previous revision of the schema would still be valid with regards to the revised cardinality rule

Web Services Make Connection (WS-MakeConnection)

February 28, 2008

Introduction

This document describes version "200702" of the WS-MakeConnection namespace. It also contains a directory of links to related resources using the Resource Directory Description Language (RDDL) 2.0.

Namespace URI Versioning Policy
