Subject: Summary of WS-Addressing meeting of 2006-11-06
WS-Addressing reached two decisions on November 6, 2006. 1) The WG
decided to remove text in WS-Addressing SOAP binding sections 5.2.1 and 5.2.2
that allude to uris defined in other specifications that MAY indicate semantics
similar to wsa:anonymous. The semantics of such uris are governed by
those other specifications and WS-Addressing will not attempt to define what
those semantics may be or how those uris may be recognized. The changes
will be against the rec documents. Conformance to WS-Addressing is
defined within the specifications in such a way that the WG decided that the
changes are editorial and do not affect conformance. 2) The WG
agreed that the wsdl binding is not friendly to the WS-Policy specification now
in progress since the Policy framework indicates that assertions are distinguished
only by the QName of the element without regard to content or attribute. The WG expects a proposal for new policy assertions sometime
this week which it will consider at next Monday’s teleconference.
It is expected (hoped?) that the proposal will be closely circumscribed around
WS-Addressing and will not prohibit other specifications from doing what their
authors intend. Thanks -bob |
