Subject: Re: [ws-rx] New ballot"Approve Errata as CD, without substantive changes and put forward forPublic Review"
I would like to provide a concrete proposal:
The errata is needed to fix an inconsistency in the OASIS standards for
RM 1.1 and MC 1.0, in that the normative reference
for ws-addressing metadata spec is inconsistent with the wsam namespace
we have in the spec.
This wrong namespace is actually a typographic error, in that the
editors did not update the namespace when they updated
the WS-addressing metadata references.
I was wrong about impact on run time wire format, since there is no
policy negotiation at run time.
The wsam namespace is only used in wsdl files which attach the
addressing assertion to some wsdl construct.
If implementations of wsdl processors were designed to work with the
version of ws addressing metadata which
is normatively referenced in the RM specs, they would have had to change
the namespace for WSAM for their wsdl processor to be conformant.
I believe we should add a note to the errata which clarifies that this
is necessary to fix an inconsistency error in the
ws rm and ws mc specs.
Perhaps we could add some rationale text, just before the errata text as
follows:

The wsam namespace quoted in the OASIS 1.1 standard is not
consistent with the actual namespace associated
with the version of WS-Addressing Metadata spec which is normatively
referenced.
This editorial error must be corrected to ensure that wsdl
descriptions which attach the addressing assertion
are conformant with the referenced version of WS-addressing metadata..
