so ... volunteering as champion of this easy one, does anyone have any
objection to this proposal as it stands? wouldn't it be nice to be able
have a vote at our next meeting to close this one?

Subject: [wsbpel] Issue - 45 - Wording of "while" activity

This issue has been added to the wsbpel issue list. The issues list is
posted as a Technical Committee document to the OASIS WSBPEL TC pages on a
regular basis. The current edition, as a TC document, is the most recent
document with the title in the "Issues" folder of the WSBPEL TC document
list - the next posting will include this issue. The list editor's working
copy, which will normally include an issue when it is announced, is
available at this constant URL.

Issue - 45 - Wording of "while" activity
Status: open
Date added: 7 Aug 2003
Submitter: Danny van der Rijn
Date submitted: 06 August 2003
Document: Specification
Description: In section 12.3, the "while" activity is described as follows:

"The while activity supports repeated performance of a specified iterative
activity. The iterative activity is performed until the given Boolean while
condition no longer holds true."
The use of the word "until" in the description can cause the reader to
conflate the semantics of the "while" activity with a (currently)
non-existent "repeat-until" activity that evaluates the condition after the
loop has executed, and therefore always executes at least once.
Submitter's proposal: Change the wording to read:

"The while activity supports repeated performance of a specified iterative
activity. The iterative activity is performed as long as the given Boolean
while condition holds true."
