Subject: Issue - 114 - Multiple Correlation Sets

This issue has been added to the wsbpel issue list. The issues list is posted as a Technical Committee document to the OASIS WSBPEL TC pages on a regular basis. The current edition, as a TC document, is the most recent document with the title in the "Issues" folder of the WSBPEL TC document list - the next posting will include this issue. The list editor's working copy, which will normally include an issue when it is announced, is available at this constant URL.

Issue - 114 - Multiple Correlation Sets

Status: open
Categories: Correlation
Date added: 31 Mar 2004
Submitter: Dieter Koenig1
Date submitted: 30 March 2004
Document: BPEL4WS 1.1 (May 5, 2003), Chapter 10, "Correlation".
Description: If multiple correlation sets with initiate="no" are used in a receive or pick/onMessage activity, then it is not specified whether each one of them must resolve individually to the same process instance.
Submitter's proposal: We propose that the following clarification is added to the BPEL specification:
  1. If multiple correlation sets with initiate="no" are used in a receive or pick/onMessage, then any individually must resolve to the same process instance.
  2. The same rule applies if EPRs with Reference Properties are used to identify an instance and correlation sets are present.

Changes: 31 Mar 2004 - new issue
