Subject: Issue - 218 - Isolated scopes and partnerLinks, properties and correlation sets
This issue has been added to the wsbpel issue list with a status of "received". The status will be changed to "open" if the TC accepts it as identifying a bug in the spec or decides it should be accepted specially. Otherwise it will be closed without further consideration (but will be marked as "Revisitable")
The issues list is posted as a Technical Committee document to the OASIS WSBPEL TC pages on a regular basis. The current edition, as a TC document, is the most recent version of the document entitled in the "Issues" folder of the WSBPEL TC document list - the next posting as a TC document will include this issue. The list editor's working copy, which will normally include an issue when it is announced, is available at this constant URL.
It would probably be productive to point out in section 13.6 (using non-normative language) that properties are just projections of variables and so any use of properties are also protected.
Finally, it seems to me that isolation semantics shouldn't apply to
correlation sets. The only time it should matter is if the correlation
set wasn't initialized before the isolated scope started and the
isolated scope wants to guarantee to itself the right to initiate the
correlation set. But that presents a pretty obvious race condition if
you have two isolated scopes who both want to initialize the same
correlation set. So my guess is that correlation sets aren't protected
by isolation semantics.
Submitter’s proposal: Edit 13.6 to make it clear that partnerLinks are included in isolation
semantics, point out the implications (using non-normative language) of
properties and also point out that isolation semantics explicitly don't
apply to correlation sets.
