Subject: Re: [wsbpel] Issue 82.2 Proposal (discussion points captured)

Upon on Rania's discussion (part 1):

Changes are suggested as follows:
From:
-------------------------------------
Extensions used in this profile:
Implementation and future refinement of this template profile MAY define additional
attributes from another namespace to enhance the semantics of a template-based abstract
process and a resulting executable completion. For example, a unique identifier attribute
may be added to uniquely identity a WS-BPEL fragment which spans the lifetime of a
business process in template, abstract and execution completion stages. As such, the
activity to replace an "opaqueActivity" may retain the same unique identifier.

Extensions Usage
Extension attributes and elements are generally allowed in both Abtract Process and Executable Process. An example in the context of this abstract proces profile is:
a unique identifier attribute may be added to uniquely identity a WS-BPEL fragment which spans the lifetime of a business process in template, abstract and execution completion stages. As such, the activity to replace an "opaqueActivity" may retain the same unique identifier.

Short and sweet :-) A couple of questions:

Why the requirement that all start activities must be present in the template? Is it about the data that comes in with the initial message being essential?

Why are compensation handlers not allowed to be added to scope declarations?

Attached is a proposal for Issue 82.2 - another abstract profile for a process template - which was developed by the subgroup which expressed interest in this back in June (including Adobe, Oracle and Sun).
