Subject: Proposed Text -- WSN5.4: Upgrade to WSDL20
Chapter 5 in the Issues document is essentially dedicated to common issues that are applicable to all the WSN specifications. I therefore thought it appropriate to add the following WSDL related issue there. Please review ...
This issue may later expand into multiple issues, since
there are many aspects of upgrade to WSDL20 (each aspect potentially affecting
every WSN specification).
In addition to the syntactic changes for adopting WSDL20,
etc, a potentially larger issue that has to be revisited as part of upgrade to
WSDL20 is - Expression of notification producer using WSDL concepts and
constructs., specifically the definition of notification message exchange
pattern as a WSDL MEP.
This issue was first discussed during the biweekly
conference call on
Since the notify and solicit-response operations from
WSDL11 are prohibited by WS-I, and since WSDL20 provides a cleaner support for
defining complex message exchange patterns, the group decided to pursue WSDL20
exclusively.
