Subject: RE: [wsn] Preconditions

I don't recall that we removed the "concept" of pre-condition, but rather, we changed the syntax somewhat to collapse precondition, selector and topicExpression under a filter element.

Didnt we just remove pre-conditions and collapse them into a single list of filters?
As for when they get evaluated does it matter as long as nothing gets through if they evaluate to false.

Martin.

RE: [wsn] Preconditions

Should the time of evaluation of preconditions go into the specification or be left open to interpretation?

It's the latter, as I understand.

I guess the notification may not even be produced as a result of evaluating a precondition. For example, if  precondition is debug=true, and the Producer is not in a debug mode.

Thanks,
Sanjay

When are preconditions evaluated? When a subscription is made? When a notification is about to be produced?
