WSN2.32: Dialect of TopicExpression in Subscribe request MUST be specified

The dialect of the TopicExpression element in a Subscribe request is identified by its “Dialect” attribute. Currently, use of the “Dialect” attribute is not required leading to situations where the TopicExpression element is not recognizable by the NotificationProducer.

Proposed Recommendation

Amend the XSD definition of the TopicExpression to include ‘use=”required”’ on the Dialect attribute. That way, NotificationProducer can generate and send an exception to the Subscriber whenever the Dialect attribute on the TopicExpression is not present.
