Subject: FW: proposals for project incubation
3 of 3! After sending a similar announcement to the WSDM and WS-Notification TCs it is now my pleasure to forward this email to the WSRF community to bring to your attention the Apache incubator projects described below. They all come with contributed code from Globus and HP. The one of highest interest to this TC is the "Apollo" project, an open-source implementation of the WSRF specifications. If you ask me, this should further improve WSRF adoption and interoperability... The text of the full proposals have been posted to the Incubator wiki - their URLs are indicated below. Here is a summary of the proposals: Apollo (http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/ApolloProposal) The goal of the Apollo project is to provide a reference implementation of the WS-ResourceFramework family of specifications. The initial code contribution is based on a joint development effort between Hewlett-Packard and Globus Software. Hermes (http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/HermesProposal) The goal of the Hermes project is to provide a reference implementation of the WS-Notification family of specifications. The initial code contribution is based on a joint development effort between Hewlett-Packard and Globus Software. Muse (http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/MuseProposal) The goal of the Muse project is to provide a reference implementation of the Web Services Distributed Management's Management Using Web Services specification. The initial code contribution is a working version of a reference implementation for the .5 version of this specification and consists of code developed by Hewlett-Packard. Existing Web Services committers, as well as any interested party, are welcome to join this effort. For more information you can contact Judi Cowell (judi.cowell@hp.com), Davanum Srinivas (dims@yahoo.com) or John Mazzitelli (mazz@hp.com). Thanks.
