Subject: New WS-X Specifications (BEA)
I'm not sure if anyone has seen this recent announcement - and if it has any significance for us at all beyond general awareness. BEA recently released 3 "WS-X" specifications: WS-Acknowledgement WS-Callback WS-MessageData More details: * WS-Acknowledgement: Designed to support reliable message exchange between services by providing for at-least-once and exactly-once SOAP message transfer guarantees; * WS-Callback: Used to dynamically specify where to send asynchronous responses to a SOAP request; * WS-MessageData: Enables the re-use of meta-data about a message across SOAP extensions; I find it interesting that although BEA was an author of WS-ReliableMessaging (part of GXA), they have gone off and created their own reliable messaging specification (WS-Acknowledgment). Like WS-ReliableMessaging, WS-Acknowledgment is also *very* similar to WS-Reliability. Kind Regards, Joe Chiusano Booz | Allen | Hamilton [1] http://xml.coverpages.org/ni2003-03-17-a.html
