Subject: Examples of Member Statement of Use

At least three Member statements of Use are requried for a submission.
These should be posted
to the wsrm List before next Monday Evening, if we are going to submit
on Tuesday, June 15.:

From The TC Guidelines on requirments for a submission:
"
Certification by at least three OASIS member organizations that they are
successfully using the specification. (Despite numerous requests, the
OASIS TC Administrator feels it is not in the TC's best interests to
further define the meaning of "successfully using". The implementation
could really be anything from prototypes or proof of concept all the way
up to shrink-wrapped software. Defining this further would only restrict
the definition and make it harder for member organizations to say that
they are successfully using the specification.) This certification can
be in the form of a simple statement in email from a company
representative, e.g. "I certify that XYZ company is successfully
using...." The implementers must also certify that their implementations
comply with known IP encumbrances (see IPR below). The submission should
include the URLs of these mail messages in the TC's email archive.
"
ipr policy from TC guidelines
"

The OASIS IPR policy requires that

    *

(IPR section 3.2) All legal encumbrances (copyright, patent, etc.)
must be identified so that the OASIS Board of Directors have the
opportunity to decide whether this work can be sent to the OASIS
membership. OASIS members have the right to full knowledge about a
specification before they vote to accept it.

    *

(IPR section 3.2.b) Any implementations that are used as the basis
of advancing the spec (i.e. the three or more member
certifications that they are "successfully using" the spec) must
      comply with known IPR encumbrances.

    *

(IPR section 4) The standard OASIS copyright statement must be
      attached to the specification document.

"
