Subject: Re: [wsrp] GetPortletProperties associativity
Subbu, My concern is not with the uniqueness of a Portlet, it's with the uniqueness of the associated Properties. As I read the wsrp spec. on PortletProperties I couldn't help but think this was a parallel of Java Portlet Preferences (which is user specific, and would also be in-play if the Producer Portlet was in fact a Java Portlet). I guess I just wanted someone to confirm that these data sets are in fact unrelated... i.e. When a customization of the PortletProperties is made then any user having access to the portletHandle will see the effects of those PortletProperties. Thanks subbu@bea.com wrote: I don't think portlet properties can be used to describe uniqueness of a portlet (POP or CCP). As far as the protocol is concerned, portletHandle describes the uniqueness of a portlet, but an implementation can use any other protocol-carried data to scope persistent state. If you're asking whether a producer implementation can use other attributees (such as user context, possibly along with portletHandle) as a key in some database to store portlet properties, I think the answer is yes. In any case, such decisions are not visible across the protocol. ricky_frost@peoplesoft.com wrote: > I read the specification section 8 re: the Portlet Management interface.
