Subject: make event types optional?
Our current event model requires an event to have a name and type. There are however use cases where events are just triggers or signals that have no payload. Although the payload can be optional, the type has to be specified, this seems to be preventing declaring trigger events. What type should a portlet declare for an event that never expects to have a payload? I would suggest to make the type optional and being in indication that if the type s omitted there is no payload for that event.
