Hi Nathan,
The requirement is to state that you are successfully using or
implementing the WSRP specification in accordance with the conformance clauses
as specified in the document. If there are conformance levels or profiles, you
should specify which ones you are using/implementing. If an interop has been conducted
that you participated in, you should specify that as well, but interops, while
encouraged, are not required.
Regards,
Mary

Subject: [wsrp] Statement of Use requirement
The following is from
BEA's OASIS representative:
You should
note that while in past the OASIS TC Process was mute on what was actually
required to claim “successful use”, leaving it up to each TC to set its own
standards, recent rule changes require organizations to specify which
conformance claims have been met and whether interoperability testing has been
performed. This creates a presumption of some kind of implementation of the
latest version of the spec at least in prototype form. It specifically does not
require any kind of product announcement or commitment. It is also intended to
encourage interoperability testing.
The relevant definition from Section 1. af. of the OASIS TC process is:
"Statement
of Use", with respect to a specification, is a written statement by an
OASIS Organizational Member stating that it is successfully using or
implementing that specification in accordance with the conformance clauses
specified in Section 2.18*,
and stating whether its use included the interoperation of multiple independent
implementations.
Can someone look into what is actually required by the new
rules? Do we need to do some interop smoke tests before issuing the statements?
If so will this push back our schedule?
Thanks,
Nate
