Subject: [wss] Issue 31 suggested resolution.
The solutions for issue #31 include an oasis-open.org URI, or a urn: scheme. My preference is an http schemed uri using oasis-open.org. I suggest xmlns:wsse="http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/wsse/" as a base. For interim drafts, I suggest appending the year/month of the draft. For the final specification of v1, I suggest appending the year only, ala xml schema. This ensures there will not be interop problems with versions prior to 1.0, and allows minor changes for versions after 1.0 without changing the ns name. I realize there isn't an OASIS namespace name algorithm, unlike the w3c or other orgs. Hence I suggest adopting something similar to the W3C's or what has been done with the original ws-security ns algorithm, that is date based ns. I don't care too much whether the final 1.0 spec has the month or not. I don't suggest using namespace names for versioning of the ws-security specifications. The use of version #s is separate, though related, to issue #31. Cheers, dave
