Title: RE: [xacml] xacml schema sub-committee (from Ernesto)

Ernesto - I have a slightly different suggestion for you to consider.  I propose groping by people's interests.  I expect that the same people will be interested in rule and policy syntax.  So, we might as well have one forum for those discussions.  If my guess is correct, then people's interests might divide along the following lines ...

rule/policy/policy set;
obligations;
predicate expression;
predicate; and
attribute functions.

Discussion on the last two topics may centre on compatible types.

What do you think?

All the best.  Tim.

Subject: pierangela me lo posti tu? grazie!

Colleagues,

I enclose a first proposal for the division of work among different task
forces within the new Schema subcommittee. The rationale for the two main
task forces would be focusing:

1. on the definition of XML types representing a policy and policy
combinator, leaving rules as black box elements

2 on the definition of XML types representing rules and their internal
structure

Two minor task forces should deal with identifiers and obligations; I aslo
included a task force on extensibility points.

Of course this proposal is only a raw first attempt, made to be amended
and modified by your input via e-mail. I especially encourage Tim feedback
on my subdividing the current schema types among thematic task forces, I
surely made many mistakes. Proposals for modifying this task force list
(or having a completely different one) should be discussed on the list in
the next few days. Once we have a task force list in place (hopefully to
be approved by next Monday), people can start joining the task forces and
working off line at fine tuning the parts of the schema under their
bailiwick.

From that point on, our Moday concall will be mostly dedicated to
reviewing and approving decisions and modifications that the different
task forces will proposed.

What do you think?

Rgds

Ernesto
