Subject: URGENT: XDI TC MEMBERS - New Orleans f2f Meeting Plans

XDI TC Prospective Members:

The results of a quick straw poll indicated that a majority of prospective
members clearly favor holding our first f2f at the OASIS Symposium in New
Orleans. The Symposium itself will run 26-27 April (Mon - Tue) and we will
hold the XDI TC f2f meetings on 28 and 29 April (Wed - Thur). Due to space
demand from other OASIS TCs, we currently only have a hotel meeting room
reserved on the 28th, but Geoffrey and I are working on reserving one on the
29th too so we can have a full 2-day intensive working session.

So the IMMEDIATE ACTION ITEM for everyone who is able to attend this meeting
is to CLICK THE LINK BELOW and follow the make your hotel reservations, as
this locks in more meeting space. (You can always do airfare later, and you
can cancel the hotel if you plans change, but this is the only way to lock
in the OASIS rate on the hotel.)

That link takes you directly to the hotel reservation process. Since I just
ran through it myself, one word of warning - when you fill in the first
Marriott reservation screen, DO NOT check any of the discount options (or
you will actually lose the OASIS discount and end out with something worse).
The OASIS discount is already in the URL.

Again, I recommend that all TC members who can come in person attend all day
on April 28 and 29 (Wed - Thur) so we can have two full days of meetings. If
you can fly Tuesday, April 27, and arrive in time, I also recommend you
attend the OASIS General Meeting on Tuesday night. And if you can fly Sunday
or Monday and want to attent the full Symposium, please do that as well
(Geoffrey and I are submitting a talk on XDI but we don't know if it will be
accepted or when it will be scheduled.) For more information on the
Symposium, see the following link:

Thank you, and I look forward to talking to everyone on Feb. 20th (2pm PT).

Subject: [xdi] URGENT: XDI TC MEMBERS - First f2f Meeting Plans

XDI TC Members:

Although none of us are official members of the XDI TC until the first
meeting on Feb. 20, at OASIS's request we must begin planning for an XDI TC
f2f meeting at the OASIS Symposium, 26-27 April, New Orleans.

Full details are available by following the link below. The main Symposium
meeting on the 26th and 27th will be followed by TC meeting days, and the
XDI TC is planning to meet f2f on Wed. the 28th.

If you can possibly attend this meeting, the key action item is to BOOK YOUR
HOTEL ROOM RIGHT AWAY. The hotel allocates free meeting space based on the
number of hotel rooms, so we need all TC members who plan to attend to make
reservations right away.

We'll discuss all of this in more detail on our first telecon, Friday Feb.
20 at 2pm PT, but in the meantime, PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS to attend
the Symposium on the 26 and 27th (if you can) and particularly the XDI TC
f2f on Wed. the 28th.

Thank you,

Drummond Reed & Geoffrey Strongin,
XDI TC Co-Conveners
