Subject: Re: [xdi] XDI Personal Clouds & the Artificial Pancreas

Sure no problemo Drummond, simply shared for conversation here, no expectations..

I'd like to play my part in helping grow adoption of XDI. Being a non-techie I can't do anything for the standards itself but I can help through promoting it into the communities who would make use of it, ideally through focused use case scenarios like these.

With this in mind FYI we are now launching a new OASIS group where there may be intersection.

CAT : Cloud Accreditation Tracks, is the re-named version of this charter: http://tinyurl.com/pacr-tc

Our goal is to document what combination of standards, like XDI, might be implemented by Cloud Providers to achieve a compliance profile for e.g. Government, Healthcare, .. etc.

This goes hand in hand with the Kantara group I have launched, which will focus on the specific scenario of Personal Cloud IDaaS, and accreditation of consumer-centric Cloud Identities.

Kind regards, Neil.

Neil,

Thanks for sending this (you hit the August vacation season so that's why I think there wasn't more response).

I agree with your conclusion, and several members of the XDI TC had a great meeting with Eve Maler and the UMA folks at the Cloud Identity Summit last month.

We just need to keep our focus on getting out the XDI 1.0 specs and starting to show XDI working in the wild.

Best,

Hey folks

I mentioned I was organizing a workshop on Personal Clouds in Healthcare; check this out, here is the event round up and slides.

We are partnered with the Centre for Global E-Health Innovation - They do some pretty intensive user-centric medical technology adoption research.

As an example of where the two worlds intersect, check out the 'Artificial Pancreas' -

In short I think they need an XDI/UMA platform to build upon, to achieve what they want in this document.
