Subject: Re: [xdi] question on singletons
I fear that is the tip of the iceberg. It means that the client needs to understand the graph first, before constructing a $msg.
Where I was heading with this is that attributes might be best served as always being collections, even there is only one value. IOW,
[=]!8[=]!9#first<#name>&/&/"Markus"
is equivalent to
[=]!8[=]!9#first[<#name>]<@0>&/&/"Markus”
for example, given the graph, a modified version of [1]:
[=]!100[=]!200/$ref/[=]!1[=]!2
[=]!1[=]!2[=]!3/$rep/[=]!8[=]!9
[=]!8[=]!9#first[<#name>]<@1>&/&/"Markus"
[=]!8[=]!9#first[<#name>]<@0>&/&/"Markus2"
([=]!1111)/$ref/
/$is$ref/([=]!1111)
the client does not know a priori whether to ask for <#name> or [<#name>]
assuming they figure that out, a request message:
[=]!2222[$msg]!1/$is()/([=]!1111)
[=]!2222[$msg]!1$do/$get/[=]!100[=]!200[=]!3#first[<#name>]
yields
[=]!100[=]!200/$ref/[=]!1[=]!2
[=]!1[=]!2[=]!3#first[<#name>]<@0>&/&/"Markus2”
[=]!1[=]!2[=]!3#first[<#name>]<@1>&/&/"Markus"
thoughts?
