Subject: [xliff-promotion] cancelling today's P&L SC
Hi all, although I will be on main TC call today not to loose voting rights. I cannot make the SC today baceuse I am on vactions in the Czech Republic, and my mother and my wife would not let me work so long :-)
All in all we have had very nice progress on XLIFF Symposium. Arle contacted Donna and we had a very successful call with Locworld organizers.
XLIFF Symposium will take place 15-17 October 2012 in Seattle as part of a federated event on Localization Interoperability standardization, which will be an official Localization World pre-conference activity.
tentative schedule:
15th will be for face-to-face working meetings
16th for expert Symposium talks, up to two plenaries with Multilingual-Web LT and ULI
17th demos and case studies together with Multilingual-Web LT and ULI
We are working on logistics now and will need to organize a scientific committee and call for participation/papers.
I will announce call for Scientific Committee on main TC today.
Also, please someone second the Multilingual-LT Web liaison proposal. So that Bryan can make a ballot.
Also someone could try and argue for the liaison in the discussion, as the only contributor by now is Rodolfo, who is rather hostile to the idea.
Considering how formally and quickly we formed liaisons with ULI and ETSI ISG LIS. I do not understand why this one which clearly is the most sensible and rewarding of the three meets so much opposition and no support at al..
