B. Namespace Versioning ISSUE CLOSED in 21 Feb 2006 meeting - KEPT FOR HISTORICAL PURPOSES The policy of changing the namespace every version is complicating the XSLTs to process XLIFF documents. Closed - will adapt to the namespace versioniong requirements - no further action required. B. Representation Guides: a. COMPLETE: HTML - Doug revised document updating the examples with correct version information (http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xliff/200602/msg00004.html). TC approved representation guide as part of 1.2 committee draft package. b. Java Resource Bundles NOTE: NO PROGRESS SINCE MEETING IN NOVEMBER Latest Draft of Java Resources Profile: http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xliff/download.php/14554/xliff-profile-java-1.1-draft-1.zip Although the TC provisionally agreed at last meeting to have a ballot starting September 30th, a number of issues arose during the review which require discussion in a teleconference. A number of issues in this email: http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xliff/200509/msg00023.html 1/Differentiate between different Java platforms/versions 2/Address XML-based properties 3/Provide pointers to Java pages on internationalization 4/Sketch the Extract&Merge Paradigm 5/Handling of references (especially to non-textual resources) 6/Approach for comments c.survey of existing parsing tools ->http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xliff/200509/msg00025.html These issues have not yet been addressed - need final word on escaping. d. PO Files: Updated PO files representation document to 1.2 specification -> http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/xliff/200603/msg00007.html Issue: This document needs to be approved as 1.2 committee draft. Will discuss if a ballot should take place in the meeting or online... Archived Historical detail: No licensing issues exist with the work that was submitted to the XLIFF TC by Paul Gampe. Bug fixing the XSD will need to update both 1.1 and 1.2. DECISION: Discuss further until next month's meeting - add to agenda to discuss and possibly approve solution. d. Seems unlikely but we need to avoid breaking backwards compatibility. DECISION: Discuss further until next month's meeting - add to agenda to discuss andd possibly approve solution. e. DISCUSSION: Andzrej explained. Magnus also concurred that this is a very useful feature, but probably should rename to something more simple and clear - perhaps "textequivalent", "textapproximation", etc. Default value should be empty. Doug wanted to know if any other character could be specified other than empty. "subst" as suggested by Mat or "equiv" or "equiv-lex", or "lev-equiv", "lex-replace. Doug asked if only one character would be replaced - consensus is that should be able to replace any number of characters - not just one. DECISION: Andzrej will author spec modifitions. TC will need to choose an appropriate name - Tony will send out a mail with all options listed to date, discussion will continue until next Tuesday, when a ballot will be created to select the attribute name of choice. B. Namespace Versioning ISSUE CLOSED in 21 Feb 2006 meeting - KEPT FOR HISTORICAL PURPOSES B. Representation Guides: a. COMPLETE: HTML DISCUSSION: Will need to reopen this and probably every guide in order to deal with inline tags issue. Issue itself is new business - will add to next meeting's agenda. DECISION: Discussion with Rudolfo will be advanced in mailing list and next teleconferencce (this is new business) b. DISCUSSION: Rudolfo suggested that the document is mssing a revision - needs to be revised with recommended approach for handling escape sequences... DECISION: Rudolfo will sent revision to Tony via email and Tony will update the document. D. Open issues: a. Translation of Voice XML Issues DECISION: Mat will present this doc to the TC at the next committee meeting. Solution is however dependent on solving how to Extend XLIFF with Separate Namespaces (action item below owned by Andzrej) b. Extending XLIFF with separate namespaces. DISCUSSION: Some thought has been put into this issue but not yet even in draft form.
