Subject: Re: [xliff] Re: IMPORTANT! currently open special majority ballots
Hi all -I know that you all know this, but just for the sake of the historical record, I expect that what David meant by "compel" is "present them with the strongest possible case for voting to approve XLIFF as an OASIS Standard."As always, for anyone of you unfamiliar with the process, the OASIS Standard vote is 1 vote per organizational member (individual members don't vote on OS) and 15% or more must vote to approve. On the last OS vote, that was a minimum of around 45.I doubt you will have any problem hitting that maximum.Best,/chetOn Mon, Jul 14, 2014 at 1:26 PM, Dr. David Filip <David.Filip@ul.ie> wrote:Hi again,we registered some good progress on those ballots before weekend. The Charter clarification is now unanimously approved. Well done and thanks to everyone! This means that Chet will be able to load our up to date Charter real soon and our TC will be well presented in time for the OASIS membership ballot.*There is still a little time to cast the last missing 13th "YES" vote for the cos02 progression.*Please note that this ballot result will be presented to OASIS membership primary representatives in order to compel them to approve our specification as an OASIS standard. Thanks for your attention and see you on 5th AugustCheersdFDr. David Filip=======================LRC | CNGL | LT-Web | CSISUniversity of Limerick, Irelandtelephone: +353-6120-2781cellphone: +353-86-0222-158facsimile: +353-6120-2734mailto: david.filip@ul.ieOn Thu, Jul 10, 2014 at 10:06 AM, Dr. David Filip <David.Filip@ul.ie> wrote:Hi all, thanks to all who already have voted in these ballots. Those who haven't please do.We currently register 11 "yes" votes on the Charter clarification, which is good but we still need 2 more "yes" votes for a unanimous result. The cos02 progression ballot started one day later so the progress is a little bit worse. We currently register 8 "yes" votes, which means that the ballot would FAIL if no further "yes" votes are received by deadline. Please note that this is the very last TC ballot on the 2.0 spec.It is important to produce a strong result that could be proudly presented to OASIS membership primary representatives during the membership wide ballot.Deadline for both ballots is early next week, so why not get it done before the weekend :-)Charter Clarification:cos02 progression:Thanks for your attention and best regardsdFDr. David Filip=======================LRC | CNGL | LT-Web | CSISUniversity of Limerick, Ireland
