Subject: RE: [xri] Slate of XRI 2.0 specifications (was Trusted Resolution)
Okay, so far two votes for B and one for A. I'm leaning towards B mostly because I think XRI syntax will want to stand on its own (similar to 2396 or IRI standing on their own). I also expect Resolution to rev more frequently. So that would be 3 for B and one for A. Other votes? =Drummond -----Original Message----- From: Dave McAlpin [mailto:Dave.McAlpin@epok.net] Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2004 2:13 PM To: Davis, Peter; Drummond Reed Cc: xri@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: RE: [xri] Slate of XRI 2.0 specifications (was Trusted Resolution) We discussed this on the editor's call, and I voted for A. > -----Original Message----- > From: Davis, Peter [mailto:peter.davis@neustar.biz] > Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2004 2:12 PM > To: Drummond Reed > Cc: xri@lists.oasis-open.org > Subject: Re: [xri] Slate of XRI 2.0 specifications (was Trusted > Resolution) > > i vote for "B" > > --- peterd > > On Mon, 2004-11-15 at 22:49, Drummond Reed wrote: > > Given that with XRI 2.0 we are going to be publishing several specs, > > it strikes me that this is the time to break out resolution from > > syntax if we are going to do that. > > > > > > > > So the XRI 2.0 family could consist of the one of the following two > > slates of specifications: > > > > > > > > SLATE A: > > > > 1) XRI Generic Syntax and Resolution > > > > 2) XRI Trusted Resolution > > > > 3) XRI Metadata > > > > 4) XRI Primer > > > > > > > > SLATE B: > > > > 1) XRI Syntax > > > > 2) XRI Resolution (includes both generic resolution and trusted > > resoluton) > > > > 3) XRI Metadata > > > > 4) XRI Primer > > > > > > > > Which way are folks leaning? > > > > > > > > =Drummond > > > > > > > > > > ______________________________________________________________________ > > > > From: Dave McAlpin [mailto:Dave.McAlpin@epok.net] > > Sent: Friday, November 12, 2004 6:33 PM > > To: Drummond Reed; xri-editors@lists.oasis-open.org > > Subject: RE: [xri-editors] Trusted Resolution > > > > > > > > > > It's possible that my notes are wrong, but I show that the decision > > was to keep things the way they are - standard resolution as part of > > the core spec and trusted resolution as a separate spec. > > > > > > > > > > > > ______________________________________________________________________ > > > > From: Drummond Reed [mailto:drummond.reed@cordance.net] > > Sent: Fri 11/12/2004 4:33 PM > > To: xri-editors@lists.oasis-open.org > > Subject: RE: [xri-editors] Trusted Resolution > > > > > > I thought we decided to look at folding Trusted Res into a separate > > XRI > > Resolution spec starting in 2.0 (but just not to break it into a > > separate > > doc until the draft was further along). > > > > =Drummond > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Dave McAlpin [mailto:Dave.McAlpin@epok.net] > > Sent: Friday, November 12, 2004 11:56 AM > > To: Wachob, Gabe; xri-editors@lists.oasis-open.org > > Subject: RE: [xri-editors] Trusted Resolution > > > > Yes, I'm mostly waiting for review and feedback at this point. > > > > Dave > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > > From: Wachob, Gabe [mailto:gwachob@visa.com] > > > Sent: Friday, November 12, 2004 11:53 AM > > > To: xri-editors@lists.oasis-open.org > > > Subject: [xri-editors] Trusted Resolution > > > > > > While we decided to keep trusted resolution as a separate > > specification, > > > possibly for incoporation into the main spec in the near future, do > > we > > > have plans to move the trusted resolution specification forward? > > > > > > I'm mostly looking in Dave's direction on this one.. > > > > > > -Gabe > > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________ > > > gwachob@visa.com > > > Chief Systems Architect > > > Technology Strategies and Standards > > > Visa International > > > Phone: +1.650.432.3696 Fax: +1.650.554.6817 > > > > > > > > > To unsubscribe from this mailing list (and be removed from the > > roster > > of > > > the OASIS TC), go to > > http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xri- > > > editors/members/leave_workgroup.php. > > > > > > To unsubscribe from this mailing list (and be removed from the roster > > of the > > OASIS TC), go to > > http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xri- > editors/members/leave_workg > > roup.php. > > > > > > > > > > To unsubscribe from this mailing list (and be removed from the roster > > of the OASIS TC), go to > > http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xri- > editors/members/leave_workgroup.php. > > > > > > > To unsubscribe from this mailing list (and be removed from the roster of > the OASIS TC), go to http://www.oasis- > open.org/apps/org/workgroup/xri/members/leave_workgroup.php.
