Subject: RE: [xri] MathML problem w/Firefox on XRI TC Wiki
Wil, Nice diagnosis. You’re right on. Backslash
fixes it. I’ll fix the other pages. THANKS! =Drummond From: Tan, William
[mailto:William.Tan@neustar.biz] I was
puzzled as well. Looked at the source code of the wiki page, the ‘$’ is there
but it doesn’t get rendered. Turns out that the OASIS wiki uses the ASCIIMathML
javascript library which turns ASCII math notation into inline MathML, and ‘$’
is used as a delimiter to indicate the start of ASCII math notation. I
think we can work around it by prefixing the $ with a backslash “\”. If
backslash means something else in moinmoin, you’d have to use the verbatim
mode. From: Drummond Reed
[mailto:drummond.reed@cordance.net] Wil (et al): It turns out the problem I’m having seeing the “$” character
properly on the OASIS XRI TC wiki pages is a Firefox problem (the page looks
fine in IE, but it Firefox it seems to be interpreted as MathML or something).
I suspect it may have something to do with the “You need to install MathML
fonts” warning I get when I first visit one of those pages. (I tried looking on the Mozilla site for info but can’t find
anything. Do you (or anyone else on the list) know what the problem is with
Firefox and the $ character, or why Firefox thinks that these XRI TC wiki pages
have MathML on them? =Drummond |
