Subject: RE: [xri] XRI discovery -vs- resolution

I'd rather have XRI mentally associated with a very successful and ubiquitous DNS (using the word "resolution") than with a very questionable UDDI (using the word "discovery").

Subject: [xri] XRI discovery -vs- resolution

Hey guys –

I was wondering what everyone thinks about the idea of instead of using the term XRI resolution we start calling it XRI discovery?  I think changing to the term discovery more accurately describe what we do.  We essentially have designed a web service protocol to ‘discover’ metadata about an identity that is defined with XML.  This also may help alleviate any confusion out there around the term resolution which tends to conjure up the thought of a DNS replacement which could not be further from the truth.

Thanks

- Les
